The Chevy Trailblazer is another vehicle from the GM which combines a high level of refinement, comfort, styling and modern technology with the class-superior performance and drivability. This mid-sized SUV with the Colorado’s underpinning hasn’t been in the offer in the US since the 2009 but in other markets like Brazil, Philippines, India, etc. this vehicle has the huge fan base. There were some hints that Chevy could offer the next-generation successor to this model for the US market but this model won’t certainly arrive for the 2018 model year because that move would dwindle the sales of redesigned Equinox and Traverse. However, other markets will see the 2018 Chevy Trailblazer but with no significant changes.
New for 2018:
There won’t be actually any significant change on the new Trailblazer as this model has received more than just cosmetic changes for the 2017 model year. Chevy made changes on model’s exterior which now shares many similarities with the new Equinox. Interior also experienced upmarket treatment and tech and safety features were upgraded as well.
2018 Chevy Trailblazer: Styling
When it comes to the styling, the new 2018 Chevy Trailblazer will continue in the same form as its current version. Chevy made the exterior look of the Trailblazer more angular and refined with the last update. The model adopts brand’s latest design language and many similarities can be detected with the new Equinox model.
The front fascia of this model includes Chevy’s signature dual-port grille that is flanked by the headlights which come with the daytime running lights. Front bumper has dynamic contours and accent lines on model’s side panels also add to its appearance. The base versions will ride on the 17-inch wheels while higher spec versions will get 18-inch multi spoke wheels. The Z71 trim will also add some specific touches. It will feature the matte black graphic on the hood, high-gloss side mirrors caps, and unique wheels.
The interior environment will be quiet and refined. Thick front door glass, well-designed and sealed doors and windows will keep the noise outside the cabin.
However, the quite ambient will also come with the comfortable seats, soft-touch materials and available high-end features. The model will offer premium leather seats with contrasting stitching, power features while the second and third row with the fold-flat functionality will provide additional space for the cargo.
On the other hand, the model will also include the latest tech and safety features. The Chevy will provide the latest MyLink infotainment system with smartphone compatibility and available 8-inch touchscreen. The model will also put the focus on the safety of passengers. It will come with a number of passive and active features. Available will be the front and rear parking assist, forward collision alert, blind-zone warning, lane departure warning, tire pressure monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, etc.
2018 Chevy Trailblazer: Powertrains
Two familiar engine options will again power the 2018 Chevy Trailblazer. The model still manages the class-leading horsepower and torque with proven Duramax diesel engine. This 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel engine with the variable geometry turbocharger can produce 200 hp and impressive torque of 500 Nm at a low 2000 rpm.
Another engine variant will be a 2.5-liter four-cylinder which can deliver 163 hp and torque of 380 Nm. The engine will work in the combination with the six-speed automatic transmission and 6-manual gearbox should also be available.
On the other hand, the Trailblazer will feature fully boxed frame and rigid chassis. That combined with the independent suspension will provide high ride stability and comfort. The Electric Power steering will also make steering easier by providing properly weighted steering depending on the speed.
2018 Chevy Trailblazer: Arrival, Price
The 2018 Chevy Trailblazer should arrive at the market by the end of this year. The price range should stay close to the current boundaries.
