2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross: Design

From the visual stand point, the 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is a more design-focused model than brand’s other crossovers but they obviously share company’s familiar designed language. The model has the angular nose with brand’s dynamic shield theme and modern-looking headlights.

The profile has angular bodywork expressed with the rising shoulder line and sloping roof. The steeply raked rear window combined with the chunky spoiler adds the dose of the coupe-like style. The model also has interesting taillights setup and the liftgate comes with the two separate glass sections.

Dimensionally, the Eclipse Cross ride on the same 105.1-inch wheelbase as the Outlander Sport and Outlander while slots between these two with 173.4 inches in the length.

Interior, Equipment:

2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross: Powertrain

The attractive 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross will be available with several engine options depending on the market. The US-spec version will likely offer the 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo petrol as the only option. This engine has an aluminum block and head and also employs direct injection and variable valve timing. The US-spec power figures are yet to be reviled but we expect a modest power upgrade over the Old Continent claimed 161 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. This engine will come to the US with the continuously variable transmission and an optional electronically controlled all-wheel drive.

The manual and automatic gearbox will be available alongside the 2.2-liter turbodiesel in Europe. However, this combo won’t likely be available in the US.
