So, according to the latest reports from the car industry, the 2018 Toyota 4Runner won’t sacrifice its body-on-frame design and off-road prowess for the more car-like road manners and more appealing look. The model will continue with the tradition and truck-like front end will be combined with the wagon-like body and high ground clearance. All models will also include skid plates while some styling variations will be seen over the trims. The TRD Pro version will feature unique grille while more chrome will be seen on the Limited version.

On the inside, the 4Runner won’t also have to show much new. The model will provide plenty of the room in any direction in the front row and rear passengers will also get the similar treatment. The frontal visibility will also be good while the overall comfort will be according to mode’s off-road mission.

The model will also have well-arranged and easy to use controls. It might get upgraded infotainment system starting from the base version. Toyota might also add some of the advanced safety systems but it is still unconfirmed.

On the other hand, an optional third-row of seats will again be available. The models with the seats for five will have standard four-wheel drive system. The 4Runner will offer improved off-road hardware in the trims prefixed with the TRD. The equipment will include locking rear differential, special wheels, and tires, a revised suspension with the Blistein dampers and special front springs. However, the dual-zone climate control, perforated leather upholstery, a sunroof, premium sound system and more will also be available.

If the latest reports providing relevant information, the 2018 Toyota 4Runner will continue exploiting a 4.0-liter V-6 engine. This power mill can provide 270 hp and torque of 278 pound-feet. Combined with the automatic transmission this engine will guarantee the towing limit of 5,000 pounds.

As we mentioned earlier the model will also get specific suspension setup depending on the version. Like with the current model, four suspension setups should be available. The base models will get the traditional arrangement while the TRD version will upgrade with Toyota’s Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System.
