Toyota Land Cruiser Prado combines brand’s fabled reliability and off-road heritage with the versatile interior, tough look and modern equipment. The model was redesigned in 2009 and updated in 2013. Based on what we know so far about the upcoming 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, the most of the changes will be visual. The new Prado will get reworked front end while changes on its rear side will be less notable.
The front fascia will be defined with the bolder hexagonal grille which has five vertical slats and takes the position between now sleeker and more aggressively styled headlights. The new Land Cruiser Prado will also get a new hood and thin chrome strip in its base running above the headlights and the grille. In the lower portion of the front side, the model will have a more aggressive bumper and new fog lights.
The profile continues in the same form with the wagon-like roofline and sculpted fenders. But new wheel designs will be available.
On its rear side, the new version will get several new details as well. The taillights will be darker and with the new graphics. The rear bumper will also be slightly different compared to its current form.
Stepping to the interior of the new Land Cruiser Prado, the changes will be seen in new trim details. The new modernized dash is also the part of this generation second facelift.
In front of the driver will be a new steering wheel and instrument cluster. The center stack will also be redone. The new vertical arrangement of buttons and new HVAC controls will come alongside with the new version of the infotainment system with an 8-inch center screen interface.
What is also important, the new version will be safer thanks to the new standard safety technologies. The LED headlamps will be standard but the Toyota Safety Sense- P kit as well. The safety package will include automatic high beams, lane departure warning with steering assistance, adaptive cruise control, Pre-collision warning system with pedestrian detection.
2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado: Engine Options
No signs about changes related to the running gear are present as this moment. The 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado will again be available with the variety of diesel and petrol engine options. Depending on the market, the buyers will be able to get the 2.7-liter four-cylinder petrol engine. It delivers about 160 hp. Two more petrol engines will be available with the Prado model. A 3.6-liter V-6 and 4.0-liter V-6 engines will provide plenty of muscle.
The diesel options will include a 2.8-liter four-cylinder unit and two 3.0-liter engine versions.
