You can’t get the pace with other carmakers if you don’t have the range of SUV on the offer. That’s how things stand now in the car industry. The things developing much better for Jaguar after the introduction of the first F-Pace SUV. The smaller body E-Pace arrived a year after and all-electric I-Pace is also here. The subcompact E-Pace follows the suite of the bigger F-Pace to some extent and it is efficient and attractive inside and out. The turbocharged engines and well-planted drive makes it also attractive for performance-oriented buyers.
The model had the premiere in July 2017 and the new 2019 Jaguar E-Pace is closing to the launch. However, the model isn’t expected to bring much new. We should expect some changes in the equipment organization and a few new options. Some reports suggesting that the 2019 version could bring the SVR performance version like the 2019 F-Pace but no evidence or hint from Jaguar Land Rover in that direction.
2019 Jaguar E-Pace: Design
The F-Pace and E-Pace don’t share the underpinning but have a similar shape and of course styling elements. However, two models also have some distinctive details. The E-Pace has longer overhangs and slightly different body lines.
The tall front end embodies Jags familiar nose. The model has familiar mesh grille design combined with large air intakes on sides and thinner in the lower section. The exterior design continues with angled headlights and the profile gets attention with the steeply raked roofline and sculpted rear fenders while the rear combines slim taillights with sharp edges and well-integrated rear bumper.
The 2019 Jaguar E-Pace will continue with the unchanged form while Jaguar will offer fresh color options and probably new wheel designs.
Inside the E-Pace is surprisingly roomy and the design is familiar from the larger F-Pace. The model offers useful 52.7 cubes for the cargo which shrinks to 24.2 cubes with rear seats up. The changes for the new model year will be limited to some equipment reorganization.
The E-pace comes well-equipped in all variants. The base version will ride on 17-inch wheels and use LED headlights. It will also offer automatic wipers, dual -zone climate control, 10-inch display, parking sensors, rearview camera, six speakers, etc. It will also include some active safety systems like the forward collision warning, low-speed braking, and lane keep assist.
The leather upholstery, 10-way power seats, surround view cameras, navigation, WiFI and more will be available with the next trim. Upper grades will improve with larger wheels, memory setting, premium upholstery, unique interior details, and more.
2019 Jaguar E-Pace: Powertrains
The 2019 Jaguar E-Pace will return with the same engine options. The model offers torque vectoring and engines from the Ingenium family. The engines use the direct injection and variable-geometry turbos.
In the base variant, the power will come from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. This version makes 246 hp and torque of 269 pound-feet.
The same displacement will provide 296 hp and torque of 295 lb-ft in the upgraded version in upper grades. Both engine versions will come in the combination with the 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
The model will return similar fuel economy as in the current version which keeps the pace with the rivals with 24 mpg combined.
2019 Jaguar E-Pace: Arrival, Price
The 2019 Jaguar E-Pace will again start under $40k and climb over $50k in the top-spec versions. The model will appear by the year-end.
