2019 Lincoln MKC: Refreshed, More tech, more safety

After the debut of Lincoln’s new design language on the Continental sedan, Ford’s luxury division continues to apply it to the SUV lineup. At the 2017 Los Angeles Show, Lincoln presented the refreshed 2019 Lincoln MKC. The entry-level crossover returns with the new attractive face and more refined lines. Interior was also the subject of some mild upgrades while Lincoln did more on the equipment offer.

The mechanics continue in the same forms and we expect the same range of trim options as on the current version. Unfortunately, the new 8-speed automatic transmission won’t be available like on the bigger Nautilus.

2019 Lincoln MKC: New Attractive Look

The most obvious changes on the refreshed 2019 Lincoln MKC are on its exterior. For the 2019 model year, the MKC ditched the double-wing grille design and bradn’s new grille that debuted on the Continental now defines the face of this model as well.

With the new more refined grille version, Lincoln matched slightly reshaped headlights while the rear has more chrome detailing. The lines on the hood of the updated model are smoothened and combined with the strong side character line the overall look of the model is more refined.

Interior, Equipment:

Inside model’s premium cabin, the changes are not big. Lincoln upgraded the quality of materials in the Balck Laber trim. This version again comes with the same themes, the Modern, Indulgence, and Center Stage. The same trim options should also be on the offer but Lincoln hasn’t yet confirmed that. The current trim range includes the base Premiere, Select, Reserve and high-end Black Label.

Equipment wise, the new MKC offers more standard elements. The new model year brings standard Apple Car Play and Android Auto as well as WiFi and USB ports. Forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking is also the standard rig. Other active safety systems available optionally are lane departure warning, parking assistant, blind-spot monitoring with cross traffic alert, etc.

Both engines come in the pair with the six-speed automatic transmission. The all-wheel drive will be available from the base trim. The new 8-speed automatic won’t be on the offer like in the new Nautilus.
